“Your baby weighs about 1.5kg and looks more than ever like a newborn. He measures about 41cm from crown to toe. His arms, legs and body continue to fill out – and they are finally proportional in size to his head..”
Weeks Pregnant: 31
Baby Size: A Coconut
Gender: I’ve now decided everyone is mistaken 🙂 I KNOW this baby is a girl ;).
Weight gain so far: 21lbs! I hate the weight gain at this part of pregnancy! Every week I’m a pound or two heavier. Although baby is definitely growing! I feel like I have zero space left in there and my tummy literally feels like its going to pop when she’s kicking me!
Maternity clothes: I’ve avoided buying anything else maternity and am basically living in my leggings.
Stretch marks: Not yet.
Cravings: Cravings have pretty much completely gone. Eating habits at the moment have changed though, I’m definitely not feeling hungry much (no doubt because of the severe lack of space!) and ‘little and often’ is definitely the way to go from here on out.
Sleep: Ava’s sleeping pattern seems to improved (slightly) and I seem to be sleeping ok, minus the countless trips to the toilet during the night again (I feel like I’m 12 weeks again!) and back ache is still giving me trouble when I wake up.
Mood: Even though it feels so completely crazy when she’s moving around (which is a lot!) I love it so much, she’s taking up every little bit of room in there and when she moves its such an odd thing thinking she’s right there! Like a cm or so below the surface. It feels like I’m getting to know her little patterns and behaviours so much more nowadays and I feel much more connected to her/him.
Exercise: I’ve been taking it a little easier after having a bit of a scare in hospital last week (everything was fine). We went in because I couldn’t feel little bambi moving, which was extremely scary, I don’t remember having any periods with Ava where I was worried about her movement. Anyway this little munchkin is so damn active all night long when I couldnt feel her through the night nor in the morning I started panicking. It’s definitely the most terrified hubby and I have been and it was a horrendous journey to the hospital, but as soon as she hooked me up to the monitor off she went kicking and squirming! We both just burst into tears when we heard her little heartbeat fill the room. These little monkeys really do give you the run around! Even before they’re here!
Anyway, I’ve been doing gym workouts still but taking it a lot slower.
Birth Plan: I finally ordered the pool! Yey! It feels so surreal that its all going to be happening in 9 weeks time! I’m a little scared just because I have so much to do before she arrives but I cannot wait to have her at home. I’ve read so many beautiful inspiring home birth stories recently which has got me rather excitable. I love reading what you other amazing mamas go through and the experience sounds amazing so I definitely can’t wait to bring bambi into the world.
Highlight: My highlight this last few weeks has just been the increase in movement and how much more connected I feel to her now. It feels like I could give birth and minute so its going to be a strange 9 weeks! Time is though, once again, going incredibly fast and I know she’ll be here before I know it!
Will check in with another update again soon 🙂
